Reese's Chewy Chocolate Cookies These Reese’s Chewy Chocolate Cookies are my all time favorite cookie recipe…I’ve been known to eat the entire first cookie sheet out of the oven!  Ok that is a bit of an exaggeration but it’s pretty close. 🙂  These cookies are SO addicting.  There is no way I could stop with just one, that’s for sure.  I’ve been making these cookies for years and they always make me happy. 🙂 They may not be pretty (they’re a little flat) but you won’t be disappointed by the taste – yum!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 c flour
  • 3/4 c cocoa
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 c butter, softened
  • 2 c sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 c (10oz bag) Reese’s peanut butter chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Stir together flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt; set aside. Cream sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Gradually add flour mixture, beating well. Stir in peanut butter chips. (Don’t cheat with generic PB chips – it’s not the same at all!) Drop by rounded tablespoons on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8 to 9 minutes. (Cookies will puff up during baking and flatten while cooling; DO NOT overbake!!) Cool slightly and remove to wire rack.
  2. **add a few extra Tbs flour to make them less flat.

I love these too and have made them for years. Just recently, though, I made them with mini reeses pieces and they were AWESOME!! Even my hubby who doesn't really like cookies (I know…I didn't think it was possible) couldn't get enough of them!

I couldn't stay away from these! I accidentally bought mini reese peanut butter cups instead of the chips, so I quartered them and used those instead. It turned out great! Thanks for posting this!

These are my favorite cookies too! My aunt would make them for me every Christmas Eve for as long as I can remember! The problem is…they would always break apart by the next day. Last year, she decided to make them into cookie bars and they were just as good and it solved the problem of broken cookies!

I LOVE these cookies! Brittany introduced them to me years ago and they are a family favorite at our house!! And by the way, I always decrease the butter by 1/4 cup ( so I just add the 1 cup) and they turn out GREAT! Thanks for the great recipe Britt!

YUMMMMMMYYYY!!!!! Just a tip- if you use shortening instead of butter, your cookies will not “flatten” and have that flour-ish taste. You can even split half butter and half shortening.

These just melt in your mouth into rich chocolately sweet peanut buttery bliss…. ahhh, it’s a beautiful thing. Tribute to my sweet Mom

I developed my love of cooking at an early age “helping” my Mom bake cookies, make dinner, and knead bread. She had quite the well of patience! She is the one that taught me about measurements, leavening agents, egg-washes, the basic white sauce, and numerous other mysteries of the kitchen!  I cherish the memories I have of learning to cook at her side. Thank you Mom! You instilled in me a respect for work as well as a joy in creating delicious things. I love you! xoxo
