I had the opportunity to teach the importance of Family Dinner class several times now (notes found here in How to Create Happy and Nourishing Family Dinners ).  I wanted to offer a cute menu planner–the one I designed and used before was very lame.  In my experience, having a Menu Plan is essential to success with having consistent {stress free} family dinners–and one that looks good would be so much more fun to use:)!  So I enlisted the services of a talented graphic designer and fellow blogger Marta to come up with a cute design and WOW did she ever!  I love how they turned out and couldn’t wait to share them with you!

Now you have two different designs to choose from.  One is just for dinner plans and the other design would help you plan all your family meals.  I plan on using the complete meal version for the summer when all my boys are home and always hungry. I am thinking it will save us from constant cold cereal and PB& J!

Once you have the menu filled out, look it over and see what you still need, add those items to the grocery list area.  Then cut off the list section and tuck it in your purse for the grocery store, while the cute menu portion can go on your fridge or somewhere convenient.  I hope this helps you stay on track with happy family dinners!

You can print these menu planners out weekly here and if you need menu ideas I post my menu every Saturday at here at Melandboys.

I just wanted to say that I think this is awesome! I love that it is not a whole OVERWHELMING month one that I would never stick to- I struggle with sticking to it day to day, but this seems manageable and looks great. I’m going to laminate it and use a dry erase! I NEED A PLAN! Thanks so much for sharing- great idea. I would love to see the samples of it filled out.

I love this planner and am going to put it to use this summer. I dislike standing in my refrigerator trying to figure out what I have and balance it with a recipe. Thank you for sharing.

Wow! We are on the same page. I just posted my meal planning/grocery shopping sheets on Friday. Melanie, I have to tell you I have loooved! all of your posts about family dinner. They have been so inspiring and motivational. I’ve always loved family dinner, but you’ve inspired me to make it even more meaningful. I sent Bart out to get some simple place mats to dress up our table a bit and up the special factor, after reading your post @ Melandboys. Thanks for all your family dinner information. Amen to having a plan! I couldn’t do it without one!

Tribute to my sweet Mom

I developed my love of cooking at an early age “helping” my Mom bake cookies, make dinner, and knead bread. She had quite the well of patience! She is the one that taught me about measurements, leavening agents, egg-washes, the basic white sauce, and numerous other mysteries of the kitchen!  I cherish the memories I have of learning to cook at her side. Thank you Mom! You instilled in me a respect for work as well as a joy in creating delicious things. I love you! xoxo
