Cream Cheese Pie

This cream cheese pie is fantastic and SUPER easy!  It makes the perfect dessert for your Sunday family dinner.  It comes together in minutes and can be made a day ahead. I usually make it on Saturday afternoon and let it chill in the fridge overnight.  It is fun to bring out such a pretty dessert, but not have to slave away all day creating it, you know?!  We all need a few recipes that taste great and impress your family,  but are actually quick and easy, right?!

I do love a classic cheesecake, but I think the light creaminess of this no-bake cream cheese pie is even better than the real thing. Where traditional cheesecake is very firm and ultra rich, cream cheese pie is smooth, velvety and kind of like a cheesecake mousse. I love that it is not very heavy, but it’s still decadent enough to taste like a special treat.

In the picture I used Cherry Pie filling for the topping, but blueberry is our favorite!   I have never done this, but I think fresh fruit in season would be awesome as a topper too!  Another idea I had is that this would be a fun dessert for your loves on Valentines Day! Especially if you are busy that day like me with class parties and cupid-ish activities:)
This cream cheese pie is a winner at our house–hope your family loves it as much as we do!

Thanks for the wonderful reminder of the recipe for the cherry cheese pie. My husband has been begging me to “make one like (his) mom” and I had been unsuccessful until this one. One note, I tried mixing it all at one time the first time and my cream cheese was lumpy so the next time I made it, I whipped the cream cheese first before adding the other ingredients and it made it very smooth, no lumps. I didn’t know if I was the only one or if someone else had that happen to. I’m a newbie cook so I’m learning new things every day, This may just be an unspoken thing most people know that I don’t lol. AND you cannot beat that it’s only 2 weight watcher points with FF ingredients!! YUM!

This is a Valentine’s tradition in my husband’s family. My mother-in-law makes the pies with the berries arranged in a heart on the top. Everyone goes crazy for cream cheese pie. I think it is one of Griff’s favorite desserts.

In my husband’s family this takes the place of birthday cake, they love it that much! My MIL switches out the vanilla for a little nutmeg, but I’m a vanilla gal myself. We also like this with fresh strawberries on top.

I make a pie similar to this all the time. I always use fresh strawberries that I toss in a little bit of sugar and lemon juice for my topping. It is a favorite of ours!

This is a great recipe – I think my mom used to make something like this. I would actually like this with strawberry or raspberry…yum!

I grew up with this in the 60’s and it was absolutely one of my favorites, just after angel food cake. I’ve only had it with the cherry pie filling. I’d forgotten all about it….thanks for bringing back America nostalgia! This stuff is good (and a nice note that we can now make it with fat-free ingredients!)

This is the recipe my Grandma used when we were growing up and is now a big favorite. I used to think it was a family secret recipe until I found it on the back of a label. Oh well, its always good! My husband loves it with blueberry and raspberry pie filling

Tribute to my sweet Mom

I developed my love of cooking at an early age “helping” my Mom bake cookies, make dinner, and knead bread. She had quite the well of patience! She is the one that taught me about measurements, leavening agents, egg-washes, the basic white sauce, and numerous other mysteries of the kitchen!  I cherish the memories I have of learning to cook at her side. Thank you Mom! You instilled in me a respect for work as well as a joy in creating delicious things. I love you! xoxo
