St Patricks Day is coming up on March 17th, so I thought I would present a few recipe that I make for this holiday. Having Irish heritage, we LOVE St Patricks Day and always celebrate with a fun family dinner.

First up is Scones

Scones are a MUST for my family! We all love them savory or sweet! Here are some of our favorite recipes:

Cheddar and Chive Savory Scones

Vanilla Bean Scones (like Starbucks)

Scones with Cherry and Lemon

Find lots more scone recipes here!

More Irish Menu Ideas:

You could make Irish Soda Bread and some Rustic Cabbage Soup

Irish Soda Bread

We always have this traditional Irish Colocannon dish make with potatoes, cabbage and onions. It is seriously so good! You could serve it with a classic pot roast or beef stew.

Dessert Ideas

For dessert I like to make something simple like Frosted Sugar (Swig) Cookies, Sugar Bar Cookies with green sprinkles or take a shamrock shaped cookie cutter to a pan of Brownies. Simple, but fun!

If you are feeling a bit for ambitious, try these famous BYU Mint Brownies (the green icing in the middle looks very festive)!

Or this Easy Key Lime Pie! It is a very simple recipe but tastes amazing!!

Another idea are these fun and delicious rainbow sprinkle chocolate chip cookies!

If you really do not want to bake at all, you could make these darling Rainbows in a bag!

I hope y’all have a wonderful St Patricks Day!

I just pulled up this wonderful recipe to get ready for our St. Paddy’s day party! Can’t wait — it is an excellent recipe made with cabbage or Kale. I always add a little extra fried onion, I love the scone recipe you posted here as well!

    ERIN GO BRAGH!

I love that the Sterzers make a big deal out of St. Patricks Day, well out of every holiday really:) I think my first time really celebrating beyond the whole "wear green or you'll get pinched" thing was after I was married! We should all go to Ireland someday!

Those sound so good. Yum. I think I want to try some of those just because. I hadn't thought about scones for St. Patrick's Day. I really might do that 🙂

Tribute to my sweet Mom

I developed my love of cooking at an early age “helping” my Mom bake cookies, make dinner, and knead bread. She had quite the well of patience! She is the one that taught me about measurements, leavening agents, egg-washes, the basic white sauce, and numerous other mysteries of the kitchen!  I cherish the memories I have of learning to cook at her side. Thank you Mom! You instilled in me a respect for work as well as a joy in creating delicious things. I love you! xoxo
