Hello friends,

This Peach Cobbler with Maple Butter Drizzle is the perfect recipe to use those juicy end of the season peaches. Here in Tennessee the peaches we have gotten this year have been seriously fantastic! I have enjoyed them so much in my protein overnight oats, with yogurt and granola and in salads…but my favorite way to eat them by far is in this amazing dessert! Just thinking about it, makes my mouth water!

First you melt the butter in a pan and slice up some beautiful ripe peaches. I prefer to peel the peaches, but it is actually not necessary. So you can do it either way. Here are the juicy sliced peaches tossed with some brown sugar on the right. On the left is the batter. It’s so simple to make with, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and a sprinkling of cinnamon. Then add in the milk and vanilla to create a pancake-like batter.

Then you are ready to assemble! Layer half of the peaches over the melted butter. Next, pour over the batter and layer the remaining peaches on top.

Now you are ready to pop this in the oven and let the magic happen!

This peach cobbler with maple drizzle recipe is my favorite because as it bakes, the butter bubbles up over the topping. Like magic, creating a delicious, golden crispy crust while forming a caramel sauce underneath, and a soft delicious center.

The peaches on top soften and caramelize as they sink into the cobbler. Between the rich buttery center, crisp edges, and sweet peaches, it’s truly fantastic.

This really is the perfect dessert to end summer and usher in Fall. The best way to serve this dessert is while it is warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of warm maple butter sauce. I have a variation on this sauce down below in the recipe. I wanted to explain. If you do not have cream handy then just boil the butter and maple syrup together. It is simple and delicious! A more traditional maple butter sauce has cream in it. I added simple directions if you want to add a little cream. Either way, it is really wonderful and just puts your peach cobbler over the top! Enjoy!!

Description

Old fashioned cobbler bursting with sweet, juicy peaches with a wonderful top that is perfectly crispy on the edges, and soft in the center. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of maple butter sauce for the best peach treat of the summer.

Ingredients

Maple Butter

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 375° F. Drop the butter into a 9×13 inch baking dish and place the dish in the oven to melt, about 10 minutes.

    2. To make the batter. Stir together the flour, 3/4 cup brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Add the milk and vanilla, mix until just combined.

    3. In a bowl, toss the peaches with 1/4 cup brown sugar and the maple syrup.

    4. Layer half of the peaches over the melted butter. Then, pour over the batter, do not stir. Layer the remaining peaches over the batter. Bake 50-55 minutes, until the center is just set and the edges begin to brown.

    5. Meanwhile, mix the butter and maple together in a pan. Boil 2 minutes, then remove from the heat.* If you want to add the heavy cream to the sauce–do not boil. Whisk the cream and maple syrup together and warm to simmer on the stovetop. Add the butter, and continue to simmer for 5 minutes.

    6. Serve the cobbler warm or at room temp with ice cream and maple butter drizzled on top.

    Hi Barb,
I am not sure how frozen peaches would work. I have only used fresh–but if you try frozen please let me know! I would LOVE to make this year round!!

Tribute to my sweet Mom

I developed my love of cooking at an early age “helping” my Mom bake cookies, make dinner, and knead bread. She had quite the well of patience! She is the one that taught me about measurements, leavening agents, egg-washes, the basic white sauce, and numerous other mysteries of the kitchen!  I cherish the memories I have of learning to cook at her side. Thank you Mom! You instilled in me a respect for work as well as a joy in creating delicious things. I love you! xoxo
