(This post was originally shared in 2013, but updated with new pictures in 2023–enjoy!)

I love this time of year with all the twinkling lights, yummy food and awesome Christmas music that is constantly on repeat in our house!  Yesterday I made these eggnog muffins and my family LOVED them! They were amazing–melt in your mouth good!  I think they would be perfect for Christmas morning or really any time this holiday season.  They come together quickly and taste so good.  Sweet and moist with the perfect touch of eggnog!  I have to admit that I couldn’t wait and tried one without the glaze, fresh out of the oven with a little butter….oh my it was perfect!!  I think I may like them better without the glaze (although my boys disagree!).  So if you are looking to cut down on the sweetness you can get away with no glaze.  They are just a fantastic muffin and would be perfect for Christmas morning.

I posted our all time favorite songs that are currently on our Christmas playlist here at Melandboys.  Do you have any favorites that we are missing?  I would love to add some new tunes to the rotation this year!  Please share! xo

Just made these to use up some leftover egg nog. Very good, I think the glaze makes them. I think I will try them as mini muffins next time to have more of a glaze to muffin ratio.

Oh , yum, Mel. I’m definitely making these next week – just made some homemade eggnog that I would love to use for them.

Tribute to my sweet Mom

I developed my love of cooking at an early age “helping” my Mom bake cookies, make dinner, and knead bread. She had quite the well of patience! She is the one that taught me about measurements, leavening agents, egg-washes, the basic white sauce, and numerous other mysteries of the kitchen!  I cherish the memories I have of learning to cook at her side. Thank you Mom! You instilled in me a respect for work as well as a joy in creating delicious things. I love you! xoxo
