Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Pork Sausage (ground –We like Jimmy Dean)
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour ( heaping –a little extra)
  • 1 quart of milk (2% is best, but I usually use 1%)
  • 1/2 Tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • Frozen Biscuits

Instructions

  1. Okay frozen biscuits in the oven to bake according to recipe or package directions.
  2. While biscuits are baking, brown sausage in a large pot over medium heat.
  3. Do NOT drain fat.
  4. Add flour and cook and stir for a few minutes or until mixture begins to thicken.
  5. Slowly add milk as you stir, stopping after each 1/2-1 cup, allowing the gravy to thicken again. Continue this process until you have added the full quart of milk. Add salt and pepper and stir. Continue to cook for another 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until gravy is desired thickness. Remove biscuits from oven when they are slightly golden brown. Split a biscuit horizontally and ladle desired count of sausage gravy over open biscuit.
