Description
This Monte Cristo Croissant Sandwich is my simplified, at-home version that feels a little fancy but is actually incredibly easy to make.
Ingredients
-
4 butter croissants
-
4 ounces whipped cream cheese
-
8 slices Swiss cheese
-
3/4 pound Black Forest ham
-
1/4 cup raspberry jam
-
Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
-
Prep the croissants
Slice each croissant in half horizontally, like you would for a sandwich. -
Spread the cream cheese
Spread a generous layer of whipped cream cheese on the bottom half of each croissant. -
Layer the fillings
Add:-
1 slice Swiss cheese
-
A few slices of ham
-
Another slice of Swiss cheese
-
-
Add the jam
Spread a little raspberry jam on the inside of the top half of the croissant, then place it on top to close the sandwich. -
Toast until melty
Place the sandwiches on a baking sheet and bake at 375°F for about 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and everything is warm and gooey.
(You can also do this in an air fryer or skillet if you prefer.) -
Finish with powdered sugar
Right before serving, dust the tops with powdered sugar for that classic Monte Cristo touch.
