Hello Friends! I am so excited to share this incredible recipe with you! My boys LOVE Mac and Cheese and this is possibly the BEST and the EASIEST Mac and Cheese recipe that I have ever made!  I am serious! The first night I tried this recipe, I was in the middle of painting my sons room and realized it was almost dinner time. I had some pulled pork in the crockpot and had planned on making my

My husband has always been a BIG fan of chicken teriyaki so I have tried lots of recipes over the years. I thought I had found the best one when I originally wrote this post,  but after reading this New York Times article, I decided to try one more chicken teriyaki recipe. Now I can confidently say, THIS one is the BEST-- our all time favorite!  My favorite part is that this chicken

Mushroom Cream Sauce

August 26, 2020 by Mel and Boys Kitchen + Leave a Comment

This Mushroom Cream Sauce that I loved served over Zoodles (spiraled zucchini) is incredibly delicious and is the PERFECT way to use the abundance of summer zucchini this time of year (in my humble opinion:).  My Momma and I whipped this up together while I was visiting Utah and my gluten free son Coleman was home that night to enjoy it with us.  Seriously, it was hit!  Although the next

Rosemary Focaccia Bread

August 24, 2020 by Mel and Boys Kitchen + 2 Comments

This wonderful Rosemary Focaccia Bread is an easy to make, Italian Flat bread that is bursting with flavor and feeds a crowd.  It is made with a simple yeast dough and has a signature dimpled top that is perfect for holding olive oil, herbs and cheese that slowly soak in as it bakes.  This one is topped with fresh rosemary, flakey sea salt and parmesan cheese, which makes an incredibly

Ham and Cheese Rolls

August 15, 2020 by Mel and Boys Kitchen + Leave a Comment

Remember the Pizza Rolls that I posted a couple months ago?  Well these Ham and Cheese Rolls are a fun variation on that recipe.  Instead of stuffing them with pepperoni and dipping them in Marinara Sauce, you use ham and dip serve them with Buttermilk Ranch Dressing (this recipe for ranch is the BEST)!  They are soo delicious!  I personally like them better than the

Snickerdoodle Blondies

August 12, 2020 by Mel and Boys Kitchen + Leave a Comment

Hello Friends! Today is the first day of school here in Chattanooga.  It was strange only sending off two boys this year. I now have 3 boys going to college in Utah (1 at Utah State and 2 at BYU)!  It was also weird to send my boys off wearing face masks, but at least they get to go.  They were very excited for school, since we have been out since last March!  In years past I have had fresh baked

Tribute to my sweet Mom

I developed my love of cooking at an early age “helping” my Mom bake cookies, make dinner, and knead bread. She had quite the well of patience! She is the one that taught me about measurements, leavening agents, egg-washes, the basic white sauce, and numerous other mysteries of the kitchen!  I cherish the memories I have of learning to cook at her side. Thank you Mom! You instilled in me a respect for work as well as a joy in creating delicious things. I love you! xoxo
