Loaded Peanut Butter and Chocolate Blondies

A couple of weeks ago I needed a dessert to bring to a church function and created these Loaded Peanut Butter Chocolate Pretzel Blondies and they were a big hit!  I love it when a recipe that seems awesome in my mind, actually turns out!  I had lots of requests for the recipe that night and the ones I left home for my boys were devoured! I love making quick and easy bar cookies and Blondies are

African Peanut Stew

Are you feeling a little adventurous...at least in the kitchen?? This African Peanut Soup is so unique and incredibly delicious! It feels like a {culinary} trip to somewhere exotic!  I have had a couple of African Peanut Soup recipes bookmarked for ages and was dying to try them but worried that my family might not share my enthusiasm.  Thankfully, feeling brave in the kitchen one day, I finally

Creme Brûlée Baked French Toast

Oh my .... this Creme Brûlée Baked French Toast is seriously divine!  I have a little disclaimer: this is not your everyday healthy and hearty breakfast, this is a decadent, indulgent breakfast that, I might add is totally worth the extra effort (and calories) for special occasions in your life!  Seriously, my family LOVED this Creme Brûlée Baked French Toast and I know it will be

Bruschetta Chicken with Balsamic Glaze

Do you have an abundance of garden tomatoes to use?  My tomato plants died an early death while I was on vacation in July (I think from a lack of water--boo hoo!), but thankfully the stores and farmer's stands around me have lots of wonderful tomatoes for sale at great prices!  It is that time of year when tomatoes are plentiful and bursting with flavor!  If you some tomatoes laying around your

Don't you just love the fall with the beautiful changing leaves, cooler nights, abundance of crisp apples and pumpkin everything?  I love it so much that I may jump the gun just a little!  Have you seen this hilarious video about 'Fall in the South'? Unfortunately, I can TOTALLY relate to this!  Ha--it pretty much sums up life in the hot and humid South! Thankfully, it is

Baked Creamy Chicken Taquitos

Baked Creamy Chicken Taquitos

One of our family favorite dinners is Creamy Chicken Taquitos a recipe that my sister Brittany shared years ago.  Have you made them?  They are great--at least my boys sure love them!  I do too, but it has been very hard to make this recipe with corn tortillas (which are gluten free and one of my boys who has celiac disease cannot eat flour tortillas) because they crack and break so easily.  I now

Creamy Tomato Pasta with Prosciutto

Have you ever walked past a certain ingredient in the store a million times and thought it sounds interesting but you are not sure what to do with it?  That is how prosciutto was for me and then last week I was feeling adventurous and finally threw it in the cart! I am sure glad I did because this Creamy Tomato Pasta with Prosciutto recipe is what came out of that purchase and my husband and boys

Tribute to my sweet Mom

I developed my love of cooking at an early age “helping” my Mom bake cookies, make dinner, and knead bread. She had quite the well of patience! She is the one that taught me about measurements, leavening agents, egg-washes, the basic white sauce, and numerous other mysteries of the kitchen!  I cherish the memories I have of learning to cook at her side. Thank you Mom! You instilled in me a respect for work as well as a joy in creating delicious things. I love you! xoxo
